I am reading Divergent by Veronica Roth, is a story about a girl named Beatrice who is nervous about the aptitude test. This test would tell her what faction she belongs to. She would choose her faction the next day at the choosing ceremony. There are five different factions she can get into, Abnegation which is what she is now, Dauntless, Amity, Candor and Erudite. When a person takes the test it is supposed to rule out all the factions that person doesn't belong in. Beatrice is different, she's Divergent. Divergent means that the person could belong to multiple factions. She ended up choosing Dauntless not knowing what she was going to have to do in order to get into the faction.
Tris reminds me of someone I know because they had to make a choice between different things that they wanted. She wanted to have a happy life but still the thrills of an action one. One of my friends could either choose between going to the beach or going to a water park with me. One of them is calm but still has screaming kids and hot sun, while the other one still has screaming kids but it is more fun. He chose the one that he wanted to do which was going to the water park. He knew what he wanted and what he was going to enjoy more, the same goes with Tris.
While I was reading Divergent I began to think that the other initiates were starting to notice abnormal things with Tris' results. I was surprised that she chose Dauntless because she doesn't seem like the type of person that would want to jump off a roof into the compound.
