The book that I am reading in Literature Appreciation is Models don't eat chocolate cookies by Erin Dionne. This book is about a 13-year-old girl named Celeste who has a hard time liking the way she looks. She gets bullied for her large size. Her Aunt Doreen secretly enters her into a modeling competition for plus-sized girls. She does not want to go into the competition, but it would make her mom so proud. She ends up doing round one and goes back for round two, even though she does not want to.
Celeste reminds me of my friend because sometimes she does not like her size. Also, she doesn't care how she dresses. When they run in gym class, it reminds me of when I am in P.E and the coach has us run around the track. Celeste and I are similar because we stand up for ourselves for something we didn't do wrong. In conclusion, this book is very enjoyable and I relate a lot to it.
