Water Walker - Ted Dekker

The book about mystery and confusion, Water Walker, by Ted Dekker, is a story about a girl learning about her past and who she is. Last time she got taken by her real father and had the F.B.I. searching for her. The police force had Alice/Eden slip through their fingers when they escaped by a few minutes to never be seen again. Alice/Eden has met her biological mother who is crazy about her being pure. Her feet cannot touch the ground, she needs to be baptized regularly, and does plenty of rituals. It's been five years and she's been going through this.

The scene when the F.B.I. bust into the house they were in minutes ago, reminds me of a similar scene in Hacker where the F.B.I. breaks in to arrest the hacker. The character from hacker reminds me of Alice/Eden because they both don't fit in because they both have something special that no one else has.

If I were Alice/Eden at this point I would've done anything I could to escape rather than sit there and let it just happen for no reason. I observed Alice/Eden accepted that she was being taken and decided to just see how things unfold. I'm not sure if she has any chance of escaping but the book IS called Water Walker.

  1. Good explanations and word choice. Water Walker is connected to another story in two different ways. This is a really good blog.
