The raft

This book is about a young girl who is about 15 years old named Robie. She lives in Hawaii in midway.  Robie goes to her aunts apartment in Honolulu Hawaii. She explains how this is her "off time" from her parents. She originally lives in Midway and it is suppose to be a "lucky" area to live, I interrupt it as being wealthy. Robie hates it because there is no Wi-Fi, internet and television and because she is on an island its hard to communicate with her friends... we can all admit that this would be hard for us these days right?

Robie soon finds out that her aunt has some business to take care of and that she would have to stay at the apartment all by herself. Robie finds no problem with that, she would be more than happy to be alone until that night she goes out to get Mcdonald's and when she is walking back on a busy street a dirty man tries and tackles her, she manages to run and get away.

I can make a text-to-world connection to this book because there is always one big plane crash a year and one happened not to long ago in July with the Malaysia flight 370. That was a huge story and case that was investigated. The tragedy happened over the Indian Ocean and in this book the crash happened over the Pacific ocean and its about surviving with no commutation food or anything of that sort. Overall I think this book is going to be fantastic and a good read. It seems like a easy read and its not that long of a book compared to some other books, it only 231 pages.

I recommend you to read this book even though I'm not finished with it but I can tell you already it's going to be a good one.
