Deliruim- Text to Text

Have you ever thought what the world would be out without love, if your parents only took care of you as duty not as their love for you? Well in the book Delirium, by Lauren Oliver she does just that, she takes our world and strips love away from everyone at the age eighteen. After the procedure you are almost lifeless no love only duty towards your children, husband and other family members. This in my opinion is terrible but there are the people that don't one young girls name is Lena. She is an orphan that was taken in by her aunt. Her sister Rachael has already received the cure and Lena can not wait for her procedure. She and her friend Hana wait eagerly until the disease is gone from their veins. Then something happens. Lena meets a boy named Alex. She falls in love and that is a crime and a disease called delirium. Will she survive with her lover or be cured and never feel love again read the series to find out.
This book reminds me of the book the Hunger Games surprisingly. Katniss goes through the similar hardships with Peeta to keep her love and stay alive. This book also reminds me a bit of the Selection Series because America has to fight hard in different ways but still has to fight to keep her love and not taken away from him. Alex reminds me of Maxon from the Selection Series who tries his hardest to keep his love and make her happy even when she thinks it is impossible. Almost every love story ever written is about staying with who you love. This is bit older book but it does remind me of the Princess Bride because throughout it the whole book is about keeping together with who you love no matter the stakes.
In this book I love the way that everyone is scared of those who fall in love. I have to admit it make me laugh a little how terrified the people are of getting delirium. I wish that the book did not end on a cliff hanger but that is just what happens when it is a series. It amazes me how quickly the author can make the characters point of view change on the subject and it still makes so much sense. I like Lena because how determined she is to get what she wants and what is right. This book tells you to stand up for what you believe and don't sit to the side and let people live your life for you. If you do love a good romance and adventure story I highly recommend this book. Even if you don't like that sort of stuff read it anyways.
